Petey Pablo may be heading back to jail.
According to the Associated Press, the North Carolina rapper pleaded
guilty on Wednesday (March 16), to possession of a stolen firearm.
Pablo was arrested on September 11, 2010 at the Raleigh-Durham
International Airport when security discovered a concealed
weapon in his carry-on luggage.
In November, the “Raise Up” rapper’s reps told TMZ that their client
was unaware that he was carrying the gun in his luggage, and that it was
not even his. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon,
possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to
take the gun onto an airplane.
The AP is reporting that Petey Pablo is facing up to 10 years behind
bars and will be sentenced in June. He previously spent six years locked
up for armed robbery in the 1990s. —Adam Fleischer
