Cataly$t Bio

After numerous interviews and countless questions, One thing that always remains is "Who is Cataly$t ?" and what is the reason behind the Name? Well for one, To know Cataly$t is to know a true perfectionist and witness one of the hardest working independent recording artist of our time.

Cataly$t was born an only child to a single mother, who was forced to leave him home alone at the early age of nine while she worked to keep food on the table. Needless to say, this became an open door for Cataly$t to run the gritty streets of the Bronx and quickly gain experience in street life. However, after watching friends get killed and some face jail time, the street life became a cycle of negativity with an all too familiar end.

Cataly$t then knew a change would have to take place but no one could have expected him to become as dedicated and motivated as he did when he turned to music. Following in the path of his grandfather (a former member of The Four Arts) and his mother who has sung background for major urban R&B and Gospel recording artist, Cataly$t began to gain recognition in the Bronx as a well known battle rapper.

He then went on to work street promotion for Def Jam, Sony, and a brief stint at Emi records. As he began to learn the business, he also continued to grow as an artist. This growth eventually lead to the release of his debut album "Perfect Timing" through independent start up label In House Music Group LLC.

He featured on Mixtapes by Lazy K, Supa Star Jay, Dj Woogie, Dj L Gee and more. Cataly$t also performed at numerous Show Cases in New York City as well as featured on local broadcast Video City TV, It's A Wrap TV and Fight Club. His press includes features in Street's Mos Magazine, Rap Fanatic Magazine, Sir Magazine, Makin it Magazine, and more.

He is also no stranger to the Internet having been featured on Yo Raps.com, Hip Hop Ruckus.com, Rap Pages Magazine.com, British HipHop.UK.co, & many Internet radio shows as well.

To even add to his list of growing accomplishments is his UMA Nomination for "Best Underground Mixtape/Street Album" 2008 for "Perfect Timing" But as you can see Slowing down is not in any of Cataly$t Plans.

In fact, in his own words he would say

"I feel as if i represent change, I feel like im a breath of fresh air to a genre on it's death bed" Which in many ways defines this artist, writer, entrepreneur and the legacy he is destined to leave behind.
